Cultivate personal growth

Every successful person I have ever met says “My life changed when I started to believe in myself”, Robert H. Schuller.

Try to learn something new and different every day, take the time to improve your skills, abilities, and knowledge.

There are five important things for living a successful and fulfilling life: never stop dreaming, never stop believing, never give up, never stop trying, and never stop learning, Roy Bennett.

Do not say that you are stuck, you’ve reached your limits, you have no choice, or you are too old to change. That’s not true! You are better than that and deserve much more. You are only stuck if you allow yourself to be. Whatever comes our way, we always have a choice. Whatever you think your limitations are, you can go beyond your actual limits and grow.

Limits, more often than not, only exist in your mind and you know that you were able to do more that your thought possible, your body is capable of doing pretty scary stuff.

If you don’t believe in yourself and you are self-sabotaging, who will believe in you? “There is a powerful driving force within every human being that once unleashed can make any vision, dream or desire a reality. Life will pay whatever price you ask for it,” Anthony Robbins.

However, there is one small detail you should be aware of: Do you really know what your dreams are? I am talking about your deep and authentic desires, your true passions and purpose. It is the opposite of saying: “I want to be rich, successful, and happy.” You need to be very specific (“What”), and have a deadline for success (“When”). You will need the following ingredients:

  1. What are you thinking about? Know exactly what you want. You should define and specify what your goals are. I am talking about those dreams which motivate you to keep going when the odds are against you and inspire you to excel beyond your actual limits, those which ignited your passion and dreams in the first place. Then, and only then, you and all of those around you will find the way to make your dreams come true.

And, when you really want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it, Paulo Coelho.

  2. Why? Analyse the reasons behind your goals: being able to sustain your family, a sense of responsibility, purpose or meaning, public approval, arrogance, pride, desire to show off, love of money or fame. If these reasons are not very important, you might never achieve them because you will not be as focused and committed as you need to be.

The why is more important that the what, when or how

  3. Learn to ask for help and to communicate effectively, which is the key to success in work, relationships, and life.

The quality of your life is the quality of your communication, Anthony Robbins

  4. When and how? Turn your dreams into reality through more specific and short term goals, concrete tasks, milestones, and deadlines. Tasks should be clearly defined, realistic, evaluable, and achievable in an appropriate time frame. They could be ordered by difficulty, too.

  5. Become a Doer (Not a Talker). Get things done! Work with joy, perseverance, unbreakable determination, and resilience. Do not miss even one day, just be sure that you do something to help you achieve your goals every single day. Always be positive, work like hell, keep going focused on your vision, and it will come to pass.

Trust yourself. Get out there & work like hell. Break some rules and never, ever be afraid of failure, Arnold Schwarzenegger

  6. Get inspired. You may want to read some self-help books, articles or posts, attend a lecture or a conference on self-improvement; watch TED Talks; speak less, listen actively and more often; pray, meditate, or reflect on your goals, objectives, and actions; eat healthy, exercise and live actively; practice harder; find a mentor, etc.

Mastery is a function of focus, time, and deliberate practice
