Ask for help

When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed, Maya Angelou

Help others achieve their dreams and you will achieve yours, Les Brown.

When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream, Paulo Coelho.

Do you face difficulties, obstacles, and failures? Learn to ask for help, and when others assist you, be grateful. You will be amazed how much you can achieve and get done when you ask for help.

The key ideas are as follows:

  1. It is important to realize that you need help. Asking for help is the opposite of pride, arrogance, and a self-sufficient mentality. It is all about being humble (we all make mistakes and have flaws, and we need each other to lift us up as we climb and grow), modest, and sincere.

  2. Make sure to choose the right person and the appropriate style of communication. Watch out how you ask for help. It is not the moment for arrogant demands, endless complaints, blaming others for your own actions, decisions, failures or problems.

  3. Explain clearly and honestly what you really want (be very specific), why you need it, and how it can benefit both parties. This last one is not strictly necessary, but it is very convenient indeed. The best way to get some help is when there are some benefits for both parties and there is some kind of reciprocity. Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you

  4. Do not be discouraged if someone says NO! Not everyone is responsive, simply try someone else, others will say yes.

  5. Thank sincerely, express your gratitude. Being thankful is not only good for your health and well-being, but it also makes you happier and improves your relationships, which in turn, will make you more likely to succeed. Make it a habit to tell people, ‘thank you.’ To express your appreciation sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return, Ralph Marston

  6. Be generous.Give and you shall receive” is a popular saying with a very clear message: We should not be constantly looking for others to exclusively satisfy our needs, interests, and concerns, while we neglect the needs, wants, and desires of everyone else around us.

It is important to be generous and ready to share your time, resources, and efforts. We are talking about friendship, connecting, and creating value for people. It will make us happy, fulfill our deepest needs and desires, and make most of our projects possible because we are able to engage and involve the right people in them.
