There’s a reason education sucks and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, ever be fixed. It’s never going to get any better, don’t look for it, be happy with what you got. Because the owners of this country don’t want that. I’m talking about the real owners now. The big, wealthy…The real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians, they’re an irrelevancy.
They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the statehouses, the city halls. They’ve got the judges in their back pockets, and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They’ve got you by the balls! They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying – lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want; they want more for themselves and less for everybody else. But I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that! That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests, George Carlin.
It is essential to understand how much difference a good education makes. Education is one of the most valuable things you can acquire. It is your best chance for a better, more fulfilling, and prosperous life.

It broadens your horizons and gives you new perspectives on world views. It also builds your confidence, self-esteem, and independence. It pushes you outside of your comfort zone and empowers you to go further than you ever thought was possible.
Education is necessary for many stable, highly skilled, and well-paid jobs and to avoid dead end jobs, emotionally abusive relationships, or certain health issues. People with a good education are more likely to live more enjoyable, healthier, and longer lives.
However, education is not a college diploma, but a process. It is a life-long commitment to learning, success, and personal growth. It is the willingness to grow beyond our comfort zones, and foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking. It is a passion for problem-solving and continuos knowledge enhancement.
Unfortunately, many so called experts often claim that a college degree vastly increases lifetime earnings and job prospects. This is a big, fat, ugly lie, period. There are many useless college degrees (e.g., Anthropology and Archeology, Art History, Library Science, Creative Writing, Psychology, Philosophy, Exercise Science, Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality, Performance, Visual or Culinary arts, Entrepreneurship) that are pushed on students with high price tags and no market or little value in terms of employability and job satisfaction.
In summary, education is one of the keys to success.
